Top locations for beachfront homes
Even though Maui has approximately 120 miles of coastline, only a very small percentage of that shoreline is actually fronted by privately owned residential property. There are even fewer locations that offer true beachfront locations. There are a handful of areas and enclaves on Maui that are considered to be the most desirable owning a beachfront home with privacy and exclusivity being the main considerations.
The South Maui area of Makena consistently ranks as one of the top spots and is highly prized for the quality of the beaches, ample land area, and the feeling of seclusion that owners get to enjoy. Homes in Makena are mostly found along Makena Road but there are a few in planned communities such as Black Sand Beach and the new Maluaka Estates which is part of the Makena Golf & Beach Club.
Kihei has some very desirable beachfront homes fronting Keawakapu Beach as well as a handful of homes along Charley Young Beach.
In the North Shore there's a wonderful selection of beachfront homes in Spreckelsville and Paia along Stable Road and Laulea Place.
The resort areas in West Maui have a very limited number of true beachfront homes with 4 homes and 2 remaining custom home sites in Kaanapali along Kai Ala Drive and just 4 homes in Kapalua Place.
